Innodisk Impact Action | iEarth, I +1: Global Participation Surpasses 70,000

2023/01/05

To expand its ESG impact, Innodisk, a global leader in industrial-grade storage and embedded peripherals, has launched its first global sustainability initiative, "Innodisk Impact Action | iEarth, I +1." In less than a month, the campaign has drawn participation from over 70,000 people worldwide, spanning the Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas.

In response, Innodisk is leveraging this collective momentum to launch a three-year sustainability impact plan focused on Environment, Education, and Assistance. The initiative aims to train over 1,000 volunteers to promote environmental education and household services across Taiwan, working together to build a green living community.

Three-Pillar Sustainability Strategy: Launching "Innodisk Impact Action" to Promote Green Living Globally

Innodisk has consistently upheld its "Rooted in Taiwan, Vision for the World" philosophy. While expanding its global presence and business operations, the company remains committed to social responsibility and environmental protection. To address environmental challenges, Innodisk has structured its sustainability strategy around three core areas: Sustainable R&D Facilities, Sustainable Supply Chain Management, and Sustainable Environment, reinforcing its corporate commitment to sustainability.

With a foundation in low-pollution industries, Innodisk established a zero air pollution, zero industrial wastewater R&D and manufacturing center in Yilan. In supply chain management, the company enforces strict oversight from material sourcing to packaging selection, promoting local supply chains to reduce carbon emissions from production and transportation. Additionally, Innodisk is expanding its sustainability efforts by purchasing green energy and installing solar panels, striving to achieve its "Green Enterprise" vision.

Beyond environmental initiatives with supply chain partners, Innodisk actively leverages corporate resources to expand its ESG impact. In December 2022, the company launched a one-month global sustainability campaign, "Innodisk Impact Action | iEarth, I +1," fostering worldwide engagement and encouraging individuals to integrate eco-friendly actions into daily life. The campaign aimed to unite people in a collective +1 effort to make a tangible difference for the planet.

Innodisk Chairman and Chairman of the Innodisk Education Foundation, Randy Chien, stated:
"On the path to sustainability, Innodisk actively aligns with international standards, working alongside supply chain partners to embed sustainability strategies into business operations. We also hope that by fulfilling corporate social responsibility, we can collaborate with more stakeholders to amplify our impact and create a lasting 'cycle of good' in sustainability."

"iEarth, I +1" Surpasses 70,000 Participants – Innodisk Announces 3-Year Impact Plan

The "Innodisk Impact Action | iEarth, I +1" campaign, launched for just one month, has received overwhelming support from employees worldwide and attracted over 70,000 participants across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas. Through a creative personality test game designed by Innodisk, participants discovered eco-friendly actions suited to their lifestyles and implemented recommended sustainable practices. By contributing their +1 efforts, they reinforced Innodisk’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

Harnessing this global momentum, Innodisk officially announces the launch of a 3-year initiative in partnership with the Innodisk Education Foundation: "Innodisk Impact Action | Hands-On Value Regeneration Camp." Starting in 2023, this program will focus on three key areas:

  1. SDGs Environmental Education
  2. Second-Hand Appliance Regeneration
  3. Electrical Safety Services

By connecting industry, schools, social welfare organizations, and communities, Innodisk aims to foster a sustainable cycle of good. The initiative integrates United Nations SDGs sustainability courses, with experienced repair technicians serving as mentors to promote energy conservation and electrical safety awareness. Participants will also receive training to become sustainability volunteers, applying their repair skills to restore old household appliances for social welfare groups and community members.

Through three years of dedicated education and engagement, Innodisk aspires to train 1,000 volunteers across Taiwan, embedding sustainability values and service-oriented mindsets throughout the country to create a lasting impact.
