DDR5 brings double the speed and
quadruple the capacity of its predecessor, bolstering the performance of modern
workstations. Now, just over a year since the announcement of this new technology, Innodisk
is pleased to announce the rollout of its DDR5 modules in workstation computers. This
much-hyped next generation of system memory brings advances that help modern workstations
push the limits of speed, capacity, and reliability to levels never imagined with previous
generations.
Optimized IC capacity increases the maximum capacity to 128GB
Modules start with a baseline speed
of 4800MT/s. Future versions are expected to have a maximum of 6400 MT/s
Power consumption is lowered by
decreasing the voltage to 1.1V
Power management is now on the
module for more efficiency and control
Helps multi-core processors more efficiently manage the retrieval of data
Provides ECC on-die as an extra
layer of protection against data loss
One of Innodisk’s customers decided to use Innodisk’s 4800MT/s 32GB DDR5 UDIMM in their workstation computers. Workstations provide the ideal match for early DDR5 adoption as they offer server-grade performance, with high-end processors, and lots of memory, in a standard PC form factor for CPU and RAM-intensive applications like graphics, 3D design, and video editing.
