Innodisk Launches Power Over Ethernet Expansion Cards Suitable for Industrial Systems

August 24, 2016 - Taipei, Taiwan - Innodisk, the service-driven provider of flash, memory and peripheral modules for industrial and embedded systems, launches two Power Over Ethernet (PoE) expansion cards: the ESPL-G4P1 and the EMPL-G2P1 series. These PoE expansion cards supply electricity to connected devices without an outlet or adapter in sight, delivering both data connections and electrical power through a single Ethernet cable.

The advantages of PoE include greater flexibility, safety (no AC powerline involved), easy installation, reliability and cost effectiveness. These benefits have led to the development of a range of new PoE-enabled industrial products.

A Power Transmission Solution for Industrial Systems
As PoE increases in popularity, a greater variety of PoE applications have appeared on the market, including IP security cameras, VOIP phones, wireless access points, switches and routers. Innodisk provides two expansion cards to meet the dynamic demands of a diverse market.

Innodisk’s PoE expansion cards assist system integrators to build up power transmission networks. PoE works without modifying the existing Ethernet cabling infrastructure. It saves cost, space, and labor for new and existing installations.

Product Information
There are two series of PoE expansion cards for different applications. The ESPL series is designed for high power consumption network devices and supports 802.3at/af, up to a 30W power rating. EMPL series is suitable for embedded systems and small, industrial PCs. It supports 802.3af (15W power rating) and features PCIe form factor to dual isolated Gbe LAN ports. Both series feature dual power input and wide-temperature ranges. Additionally, they comply with both 2000V surge protection and 2000V HiPOT protection, offering high voltage isolation protection in order to prevent electrical damage to the system.

The ESPL series is currently available; however the EMPL series will become available at the end of September, 2016. For additional information, please contact your local Innodisk sales representatives or distributors.
