On May 20 2009, Innodisk Corporation is announcing the world's smallest, ultra micro, SATADOM- i100. It is only about 15% of size of general 2.5 "SSD, but the maximum capacity is up to 64GB. The data transfer rate of i100 is 100MB/s which are twice faster than traditional hard disk data transfer rate. Innodisk plans to launch another technical breakthrough product with supports capacity up 256GB with ultra fast data transfer rate of 160MB/s in Q4 2009. This Miniature SSD solution, i-160, developed by Innodisk R & D team, is specially focusing on miniature PC market (as known as Net PC) such as Nvidia Ion solution.

Richard Lee, Chairman of InnoDisk, said that although this is a very small product but a big leap for storage application. It is gradually replacing the traditional SSD in the process of HDD with a major breakthrough. in addition to easily distinguish between the three major characteristics, including small size, great capacity and high speed, the end-user in the installation of traditional HDD and SSD are required to use a screwdriver to lock the hard disk in the chassis. Innodisk SATADOM requires no tool for installation; simply plug into SATA connector and done. The true Plug & Play minimalist drastically reduce the use of traditional installation method in the psychological barrier. Our goal and marketing strategic is not going to "replace" the existing traditional HDD or SSD, but rather to search for co-existence with the HDD in the market, nanoSSD can be high SSD reliability and high-speed advantages, as a computer system OS Drive or game drive, co-exist with traditional HDD as a mass data storage purpose.

Richard also states that SATADOM design is developed in full consideration of the special needs for industrial fields, the miniaturization of solid-state disk products are among the most widely used in the Industrial PC, Thin client, Set Top Box, Game Console, POS, Communication devices, and Military devices.
