InnoDisk has released the world’s most advanced High-speed industrial IDE flash module.
Following the success of the EDC/iCF 4000 series launched two years ago, InnoDisk once again leads the industry with the proud release of its latest high-speed industrial IDE flash module - EDC/iCF 8000 series. This new series was launched in the 2009 Embedded World held in Nuremburg, Germany last week. The new EDC/iCF 8000 series adopts the IDE/ATA and CF interface design with a maximum support of the UltraDMA 6 allowing a read/write transfer rate of 80MB/75MB. The maximum capacity of the new EDC/iCF 8000 series is 16GB which is currently the largest in all industrial flash modules
Two years ago, most embedded industrial IDE flash modules were designed as single channel supporting PIO mode or MwDMA mode with a transfer rate of only 24MB/sec or below. Market demand back then was focused on anti-vibration, anti-dust, space-saving, small capacity and low cost. With the rapid development of flash modules and the accelerated growth in application demands, dual-channel flash module with transfer rate at 45MB/sec supporting UDMA2 or UDMA4 was then designed. In the last 2 years, it is easier to see the fast-booting and high-speed performance application, so the dual-channel flash module was not able the meet market requirement anymore. InnoDisk now introduces the high-speed 8000 series integrating the memory management technology as quad-channel not only increasing the performance to 80MB/sec and supports UDMA5 and UDMA 6, but also shortening the booting time from 40 seconds down to 20 seconds. EDC/iCF 8000 series is absolutely the best solution for high-speed application requirements like medical devices, industrial PC and military equipments.
Due to limited of space, DOM products can only provide dual channels, which limits speed and capacity. However, InnoDisk 8000 series breaks through the restriction, as it comes with four channel designs, and ranges from 2GB to 16GB, which is significant innovation in the industry.
